The Artist’s Residence: Volve Hotel Houses Hotel Art Fair Bangkok 2017

Volve Hotel is excited to announce the opening of Bangkok’s annual Hotel Art Fair weekend on the 24th – 25th June 2017 in collaboration with Farmgroup. The Hotel Art Fair brings together a culmination of Bangkok’s top creative minds, artists and galleries.

It is not often that we would have the chance to wander around a boutique hotel and peruse endless creations on canvas, see sculptures and prints in a relaxed and more natural setting. Volve Hotel’s management team has been a long admirer of the art fair, and we are ecstatic about being 2017’s location.

This year, Volve Hotel would like to welcome art collectors, art fanatics and art lovers to visit the hotel during the Hotel Art Fair weekend. Each and every one of our rooms will be filled with the best kinds of splashes; a fusion of colourful creativity in every corner. Roam around our floors and meet the artists, come join the community.

Our unique design take on blending the old, aristocratic Thai with a sleek, western twist makes our hotel an ideal location for the Hotel Art Fair, we understand and value the importance of art,” says Pavee Tansirikongkol, owner of Volve Hotel.

For Volve Hotel, art plays a vital role in bringing it to life. We are fans of local artists, aspiring Thai talents that are carving names for themselves in the art industry, which is why we chose to decorate the hotel with contemporary digital collages from Thai artists, Nakrob Moonmanas and Thomthong Chaijinda. The artworks displayed at Volve Hotel is a playful mix of Thai and western, with figures of Thai history being cleverly juxtapositioned with iconic representations of the west, such as notable figures and locations in a satirical way.

“We chose to partner with Volve Hotel for this year’s Hotel Art Fair because the hotel really does live and breathe design. Their unique style is present within every intricate room detail right to the dining area, making it a great location to promote Thai art. We like community drivers who push for local talent, and Volve Hotel shares the same ideology,” says Vorathit Kruavanichkit, Farmgroup.

Volve Hotel is located at 26/1 Sukhumvit 53, a 3 minute walk from Thonglor BTS station (same soi as Bangkok Prep International School)
